"You are the king of werewolves, Marcus. I am wolf-less, or better say.... a human," I replied to him in a mocking tone. I raised my finger and poked into his chest. "I am glad that I am a human, Marcus. I am glad that I don't have to give in to the mate bond. From now onwards, just stay away from me just like you want to," I threatened him while poking his chest.
He growled again, and I smirked again. I gathered all my strength, and pushed him hard this time. He staggered lightly, giving me some space to escape. "I am sorry, Emma... but I can't let anyone.... not even our mate—trample my dignity just because he is my mate," I apologized to Emma in my heart while storming away from the man.... the man who should have loved me and cared for me just like other mates, but he chose to break me instead, just like those pathetic excuses of my fiancee and Emma's first mate.
