“We’re werewolves, Stella,” Mason’s voice booms with authority. He adopts a new stance, his feet slightly apart, and his rippling muscles tense as he crosses his arms over his chest.
“You’re shitting me,” I laugh, glancing at Jaxon. “Very funny, you saw my books—” I gesture to the bookshelves “—and thought it would be funny to pull a prank.”
“It’s true, Stella,” Jaxon says, taking another step toward me. As I try to back away, I stumble onto the couch. “We’re werewolves.”
