"Sammy, the Heart has chosen you. You heard it yourself. If it falls into the wrong hands, it will be the end of the supernatural world."
I didn't know if the Moon Goddess was telling me the truth or if this was all some kind of lie. For sixteen years, I had been running. Kane and his brother were dead now. I had a mate, Maddox, and now the Dragon Void and the Golden Dragon were after me. They wanted me dead because the Heart had chosen me.
For the last two days, they had kept me up here training. Suddenly, the sky turned black. The clouds looked as if they were being torn apart. The ground beneath us began to crack and split in half. My heart pounded in my chest.
"He has found us again. Sammy, we need to be prepared. It's time to destroy him," the Heart said, her voice tense. "You can do this. Once he's gone, we will return and destroy the Dark Dragons and the Dragon Void."
Was the Heart right? Could I really end the Golden Dragon?
He had spent so long hunting the Heart, destroying everything in his path to claim its power. I had to stop him. If I didn't, the entire supernatural world would be wiped out. I looked up at the darkened sky as the earth continued to shake beneath my feet. Goddess, help me, I prayed silently. Because I'm going to need all the help I can get.
