"Who was that?" She asked nervously, "Who is there?"
The rogues blinked several times. They titled their heads like humans do when they are confused.
"Are you going to answer me or be a coward?"She asked bravely.
A growl echoed through her ears. She squeezed them, but it was useless.
Why couldn't I have just kept her mouth shut?
A wolf as white as snow and amber yellow eyes stepped out from the tree and stood behind her. He didn't look like the rogues. His chest was broader, his paws twice as vast, and the way he stood there spoke nothing but power.
He glared at them, but spoke to her inside once more, "You should have remained hidden."
"It's you!"
Being eighteen, without a mate, and a virgin is unheard of no matter if you are living behind the walls of the strict Valquerians or residing with the most extravagantly spoiled Langlands. Macie didn't care for the rules, no matter the cost.
