  I stared at the stranger, taking note of his dark wavy hair, high cheekbones, steel gray eyes, tan skin and strong sharp jaws. He was almost more attractive than Adam. I looked away, before he realized that I was gawking at him.
I cleared my throat, waiting for an introduction, but he stared back at me, clearly amused, with a small smirk tugging at his chiseled features.
  “Are you going to introduce yourself, or must we awkwardly stare at each other until I ask?”
He chuckled, and then bowed.
  “It seems like I had already selected the second option without even knowing. Allow me to…” he paused, making eye contact with me, and striding towards a standing vase used for decoration.
He slowly removed the black leather gloves that covered his long fingers.
“…properly introduce myself.” He finished, resting his hands on the vase. For a minute I thought he was going to hurl it at my face, but something told me it was too heavy to be hurled no matter how strong he was.
   Then I saw it.
From the edges where his skin made contact with the vase, a brilliant gold was glowing. The same color I bled. It slowly traveled all the way down until the whole vase was solid gold.
Midas.
Cursed with turning everything he touched to gold.
Well Wikipedia, you were wrong. He isn’t a greedy old man.
“I am Midas, Your Highness.”
I clutched my duvet tighter so it wouldn’t fall off, and tried to calm my erratic heart. Heat traveled up my neck to my face and I was sure I looked red as a tomato.
   “Nice to uhh… meet you. Midas.”
