Royal Robinson is devasted when his brother is tragically killed in a car accident but when he learns his niece was not the biological child of his sister-in-law, his world comes crashing down. A man on a mission, he sets out to find out how the man he thought was the most devoted in the world, not only had a child with another woman but had convinced his wife to fake a pregnancy and tell everyone his daughter was hers.
Famke Noor is a young woman living paycheck to paycheck, supporting her brother, and doing her best to survive. With a heart of gold, she strongly feels if there is anything she can do to help a person in need, she would do it. It was why she had fought for custody of her brother when she was only eighteen. It was why she sacrificed her own education to take care of his needs when he’d gotten ill. It was why when he was in hospital and she befriended a couple going through failed IVF, she agreed to surrogate for them.
Royal is angered to find out the woman his brother had gotten pregnant had never wanted her child and had given her away freely. However, when secrets and past hurts are uncovered, Royal discovers, not everything is what it seems, and Famke was quite possibly as much a victim as his niece was.
Desperate to make things right, the man sets on a path which will either make or break Famke’s heart. Can the woman who routinely sacrifices her own happiness for others, finally reach for her own or will she sacrifice her own heart?
