Sasha never expected the elders to choose her.
The Lexi family has been cursed by the moon goddess for generations. Ever since Martin Lexi rejected his goddess given mate. Now, the family has their mates bestowed on them by a council of elders. Whenever a Lexi turns of age, a Choosing Social is hosted in their honor, and all unmated wolves are invited to attend.
Sasha owes her uncle a debt of gratitude for taking her in when no one else would, something he never lets her forget. He has been trying to get close to the Lexi family for years. When Sasha turns 30 and is still unmated, he sees this as his golden opportunity. He guilt trips her into going to the Choosing Social to at least allow him access to the gathering.
All Sasha has to do is not stand out.
