Loraine, a young, sporty and single policewoman, only meets men who don't interest her, or who aren't available, like Mark, the owner of the Café de la Place, whom she has secretly loved since high school.

When I return to Verne Estate, I see with relief that everyone still seems to be there. I must be hallucinating because I think I hear Loraine’s voice over the speakers. And yet, when I enter the room, I understand that I wasn’t wrong. She’s there, alone on the dance floor, a microphone in her hands.
