Harper, an interior designer, flies to Vermont to remodel an aging ski resort. On her first night, she calls her boyfriend, only to discover he’s left the video running while being intimate with another woman. Devastated, Harper accepts a colleague’s invitation to a club, drowning her heartbreak in loud music and gin and tonic.
Disoriented, she stumbles toward what she thinks is the bathroom, but instead pushes open the door to a back office. Inside, three men stand over a captive with a gun pressed to his head. Frozen in shock, Harper watches the man being executed before her eyes.
As the killer turns toward her, Harper’s pulse stops. Will this stranger end her life, too? And why, against all reason, is she drawn to the dangerous timbre of his voice?
