“I have something to tell you.”
Zane’s voice was unusually serious.
I stared at him, confused. “What is it?”
He looked away for a moment before his eyes returned to mine.
“You’re not only my mate, Selene.”
My heart stopped.
“What?”
His jaw tightened. “There are two of us.”
I laughed nervously, certain he had to be joking.
But he wasn’t.
“An ancient curse runs through my family,” he continued. “It allows two brothers to share the same mate.”
My stomach twisted.
“Two brothers?”
Zane nodded.
“And the other one is Cain.”
Everything inside me went still.
Cain Weston.
The Alpha I had hated for five years.
The man who had destroyed the future I’d worked so hard to build.
“You’re telling me Cain is my mate too?”
“I didn’t choose this,” Zane said quietly. “Neither did you.”
I wanted to scream. I wanted to reject the bond and run as far away from the Weston family as I could.
Zane looked up at me like he had something else to say, and I knew it was something I might not like.
“Selene, every time we go against the curse, one of us has to die.”
