Dalton, please take her upstairs,” My father mumbled softly, and he nodded and walked with me to my room.We walked in silence until we reached my room. “There is really no need, Ayla. I'm always here to protect you.”

“You will be okay,” my mother mumbled to me as we walked towards the throne room.
She squeezed my hand as I stood in front of the door and gave me an encouraging smile.
I could tell that she wasn't happy, but there was nothing none of us could do.
