“It has nothing to do with me,” I replied simply.
She groaned in frustration and stepped closer. “So, you don’t care that I have to spend the rest of my life with an old man?”
“No,” I replied coldly.
“How can you say that? Don’t you have a heart?”

“Do you not believe in love?” she asked.

I considered her question for a moment before glancing over her shoulder at the little lake in front of us.
“Believing in love is like believing in magic,” I said. “It isn’t real. It’s just another fairytale for kids.”
