Everything happens at once. Ryder, Clara, and their men know the vampires and witches want to split them, so they do not allow it. They stay close to each other in one group. There is strength in numbers. Michael and Ryder stay together. They know that Vlad will not take both of them on. Clara, Nadine, and the rest of the originals are all together. They know they are too strong for the witches or any vampire who wants to attack them. Nobody can attack them while they stay together. They are waiting silently for the attack to begin.
