Testing

Tiara screamed, waking Reece. "Hey. Hey, it's okay." He said, wrapping his arms around her. "What's wrong Tiara, you're shaking, you can tell me." 

She shook her head, still shaking in his arms. He tightened his arms around her. "I'm here whenever you are ready to talk. OK?"

She nodded. 

We have to get ready. You need to be at the doctor's so you can be tested in an hour. Are you still okay with them testing you?"

She nodded and he slowly released her out of his arms. He pulled them both to their feet and left her in the bathroom.  "I'll just be here if you need okay."

She nodded and walked toward the bathroom. "Thanks, Reece."

He smiled and she walked in, closing the door behind her. Once she had relieved herself and taken a much-needed shower, got dressed and headed into the bedroom. Reece looked up and smiled. He got up and walked over to her. "I won't be long, angel."

"Okay."

He smiled,  placing a kiss on her forehead. God, he wanted more, but he knew this wasn't the time she was still healing from what Shaun had put her through and now she was having a nightmare she wasn't willing to talk about. Maybe once she trusted him enough she would.

After he showered and dressed, he walked back into the bedroom. He looked at her and held his hand out. Come in angel. Let's get these toasts done so we can enjoy the rest of the day." He smiled.

She hesitantly took his hand and he pulled her to her feet, leading her out of their room. He had insisted she share a bed with him and promised he would touch her though it had been hard not to. He had stuck to his promise.

He led her down the masses of stairs to the basement where the doctors were working furiously.

 I thought when you said you were taking her to the hospital you managed an actual hospital. "

"Welcome to my hospital Tiara. I thought it was best to have one set up in my home, so I didn't want to waste half of theirs and my time if it was an emergency."

She nodded understandingly.

He led her into the hospital where the doctor met them and introduced himself before they went into his office and Reece explained he wanted every test to find out if there were any problems with her, including STIs and STDS.  

He nodded and asked Tiara to follow him into the testing bay where he took blood etcetera and he asked her to give him a urine sample. She agreed and did it without question.  She had X-rays done and now she was sitting next to Reece waiting for the results. He held her hand tightly, telling her it would be okay. He hoped it would, so she could have a fresh start she desperately needed and, hopefully,  with him.

The doctor came out of this office and told them the results were in and asked them to follow him.

They followed him into his office and took a seat next to each other. Reece was still gripping tightly onto her hand.

"So what did the tests say,  doc?"

He looked at Tiara. "You are clear from all STIs and STDS. You have many fractures and broken bones that haven't healed fully because of the abuse that you were put through and caused more damage to the already damaged bones. I don't  know how to say this but you're  pregnant."

"She's what!" Reece bellowed angrily. 

"She's pregnant."

Tiara sat with tears in her eyes. How was this even possible? She was told she would never be able to conceive ever again because of the extensive damage Shaun had inflicted on her. "Is there any way she can, you know, get rid of it?"

He shook his head. "I'm sorry there isn't abortion is off the cards. I calculate she's approximately twelve or thirteen weeks pregnant. I'm sorry Reece, Tiara, but you had to know."

"Are you sure, doctor? I was told I could never bear another baby, let alone give birth."

"I see. I am sure, Tiara. We will have to monitor  you throughout your pregnancy and both just in case there are any complications."

She nodded. "Thank you, doctor."

He smiled and we got up. She looked at Reece. Not knowing what to say apart from, "I'm sorry."

"This isn't your fault angel, it's Shauns'."

She nodded, not even sure what else she could say at this point. 

She walked out in front of Reece. "I need a word. Recce."

He looked at Tiara. "I'll be right back."

She nodded and the door closed. Reece looked at the doctor. "What's wrong Doc?"

"I need something to discuss with you. I thought it was best not to say anything in front of Tiara. The look on her face when I told her she was pregnant  was pure shock and I don't think she'll be able to go through  any more stress."

"It can't be any worse than being pregnant  by an asshole."

It can and it is."

"So tell me what's so bad."

"We ran all the tests you asked us to do and all of the drug tests came back clear all but one."

"That's impossible Tiara didn't do drugs, are you sure?"

"I am."

He sighed. "So what drug is it?"

"Rohypnol."

"As in  the date rape drug?"

"I'm afraid so."

"I don't understand why Shaun would never use drugs for s*x. He always got what he wanted without them helping him."

"I think they were used before he and Tiara were together. They have a lingering effect. The more they use, the more predominant they become in its bloodstream, though they have not been. Used for a long period, we estimate they were given to her around two maybe three years ago as a stimulant so she wouldn't argue with what the other person wanted in their relationship."

That would leave only one suspect who she had ever been with at uni. I called Johnny. "Hey Reece, what can I do for you?"

"I need you to find out everything you can about a guy named Deeks. He went to university with Tiara in America."

"Sure Reece. I know someone who will know who attended every university in America. It may take a while but I'll get the information you need."

"Do what you have to do," I said, cutting the call.
