It is the final day of winter and though the thick layers of snows, the aftermaths of the previous storms are still overlapping the bare face of earth, the warm sunlight that had been absent for the last three months now promises to shine brightly through the gap between the mountains to warm the longing souls of the inhabitants below.

In front of the Coastal Gate.

From the wide sea, a loud almost snarling cawing of a bird was heard.

A minute later, an enormous black and white griffin landed in front of the gate, two cloaked figures stood at its back.

Seeing them, the guards stationed at each side of the gate trembled, their gazes hung low, kneeling before these two figures as their feet landed at the snow covered pavemen……
