Darkness. That was all I could perceive. It was thick, endless and suffocating. My head tingled like the weight of the world was being placed on it. Then the murmurs began. Distant at first, almost indistinguishable from the void I was trapped in. Slowly, they became clearer.
Sounds of growls, snarls of aggression, and the sickening sounds of flesh being torn. My senses reeled, as my mind struggled to grasp where I was. Then it took me down memory lane.
“The shadows.” That was the last thing I recalled before I passed out from a fierce blow to the back of my head. I groaned in pain, trying to piece everything together as my eyes gradually opened, and my skin could feel the wet snow underneath them.
