We stared at each other silently for what felt like an eternity but was realistically maybe fifteen minutes. Neither one of us was willing to give in to the other.

I decided to make myself more comfortable. I walked over to the porch, approximately twenty feet from where my mate stood, and sat down. The older gentleman was sitting on a chair behind me, just watching the show.

I didn't feel threatened by him in the slightest. He certainly wasn't as angry as his partner was with my presence.

"What do you think you're doing?" The old woman asked irritably.

"Making myself more comfortable. She won't listen to me, and I'm not leaving until she does." I shrugged.

"You Alphas are unbelievable. You know that?" the woman scoffed, shaking her head in disbelief.

"I'm pretty amazing once you ……
