When Alpha Knox found Max and me trying to leave his territory, I was worried he'd try to force me to stay. When he assured me he wouldn't, I couldn't help but relax a little. I could tell he was sincere, and when he pleaded for me to give him a chance, I felt Chloe come forward and peer curiously through our eyes.
Feeling Chloe again sent an excited rush through me. She hadn't said anything to me, but feeling her presence was enough to give me hope.
Maybe Knox was the key to bringing her back?
I was still hesitant to stay, but Knox's sad and vulnerable expression convinced me to at least give him a few days. He was right anyway; I was probably safer here since Cameron couldn't get to me on another pack of land. Not unless he sought the Alpha's permission to enter the lan……
