As we head back across the battlefield, we start helping with the victims. Mostly because they deserve a decent burying, but also because we’re trying to figure out if Amelia could possibly be amongst the fallen ones.
But even after going through the entire field, her body is nowhere to be seen. Which can only mean one thing. She got away again. The spell that I sent after her was too slow. If it hit her, she’d be lying around here somewhere, unconscious.
I’m so mad, that the rage inside me makes my blood boil. And despite being worn out from the fight, I can feel my powers surging through my veins crazily, barely leaving me in control.
What makes me snap out of it is the sight of my friends, now all in their human forms, trying to tear Jake away from his father’s body. I practically tremb……
