Richard was lying on the bed working on something he’d had in his home office. We were told to stay in our quarters unless there was a dire emergency. At least, until we were called to hear what the investigator for the pack found. It was to ensure that we didn’t try to influence the investigator.
Bellamy and Lucien only asked us to stay away because it would prove that we didn’t have any hand in the decision. It was one of the ways they would combat anyone who had doubts. Robert and Simone both linked me to let me know they believed I was Richard’s mate and would support us no matter what the investigators said.
More than anything, that made me feel better. I knew the truth and Richard knew the truth, but no one else did. They could only trust what Richard and I told them. I……
