The morning came fast.
The sunlight that peeked through the curtains was so intense that it woke Amy up from her restless slumber. She sat up on the bed and rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand. Her red hair was pasted to her forehead with sweat. Amy stood up and walked toward the bath like a robot. She took a quick shower and after several minutes she was back in her armor Amadeus. She walked to the threshold and looked back before opening the door. Amy ventured her eyes to the wooden table beside her bed and looked at the Queen’s crown. It winked under the sunlight, as though inviting her to put it on. She didn’t. With a shrug she opened the door and stepped out of her room.
Her first thought was to go to King Henri’s chambers to check if was awake, but she changed her mind. She decid……
