The Site

I get inside Laura's car, as she is joining us at the sites today. We have to dress comfortably for the sites, I am wearing my black sports leggings, blue and black sneakers and a pink t-shirt. I leave my hair loose. Laura is wearing a jeans and a t-shirt. She grins at me. 

I look over to her "What?" I smile at her.

"So how was your date?" 

"It was great until Holt showed up with a blonde" I say annoyingly.

"Let me guess, you two went to Emilio's Ballato" 

"Yes, how did you know that?" I ask curiously.

"He always goes there, he doesn't do any other restaurants. It was their favorite restaurant" Laura shrugs.

"I thought he didn't see any other women, maybe she is a client" I shrug.

"The only blonde you will ever see him with is Mandy, his sister. She is a model" 

"s**t" I laugh, I thought wrong about her.

"So how was Landon?"

"He is amazing, great guy like you said he is. He dropped me at home and he kissed me" I blush.

"Wow, Connor won't like it one bit if he finds out you two are dating"

I laugh "Well I don't know what we are yet, he is a client and we just went on one date and one kiss" 

"He should just deal with it, its your life" 

"Landon is a client" I say looking over at her. She laughs at me.

"I wonder how the three of you will be once we are at the site" 

We reach the site of the mall, and we park behind Connor's car. We get out, I have my satchel with my notebook and my pen in my hand. I see Connor in a tan khaki shorts, sneakers and a light blue t-shirt on, talking to Will and looking up at the malls name. The mall is yet to be opened. Will is wearing a light blue jeans and a white t-shirt. He has much more ass in those jeans. Will's back is facing towards us. 

Laura giggles beside me as we walk towards them. The slight breeze of the wind blows through my hair. Connor looks at me, never taking his eyes off of me, his eyes scan what I'm wearing. 

"Good afternoon" Laura says, Will turns around and smiles at us.

"Good afternoon Miss Ronald and Miss Gibbs" he smiles at me more, I blush while I'm looking up at him. 

"Miss Gibbs, Miss Ronald" I look at Connor, he looks at me with a serious expression.

"So where we are standing is where the fountain would've been originally, but thanks to your idea Miss Gibbs, the Landon name will be here. Miss Ronald sketched up my previous logos on the hotel and the mall, that's why I have asked her to join" Will says.

One of the construction workers came to speak with Will, we walk further towards where the name will be. I trip into Connor, he catches me by my arm so that I do not fall to the ground "Clumsy without heels I see, watch where you walk" Connor says to me in a low voice, looking at me. Laura giggles behind me and Connor shoots her a serious glare over me and Laura stops giggling.

"Thank you MR Holt" I say.

"Nice catch again MR Holt" Laura says with a chuckle.

"That's enough Miss Ronald" he says with a serious tone.

"When will we be starting the sketches Miss Ronald?" Will asks as he approaches us. 

"By the looks of it, I can do it on Monday, that's of course if you don't have any other plans?" She raises her eyebrow at him, referring to us.

He looks at me, and gives a smile "Monday is good, I am looking forward to seeing you all" he looks at me again, and I just can't help but blush.

"Bastard" I hear Connor mutter under his breath as he turns around and walks further away from where the name would be. Laura is smiling, trying to stop a giggle from coming out. 

"That is all for today" Will says.

"I am looking forward to working with you again MR Landon" Laura takes his hand and they shake hands. 

Will and I start walking towards Laura's car, Laura is trailing a bit further behind us. "So when can I see you again other than work?" Will asks me. 

"I will see you at the hotel site tomorrow, I have an apartment mate so I won't always be alone" I say.

"You can come over to my place, I live alone and we will have privacy" he says looking over at me, smiling. A throat cleared behind us, I look over my shoulder to see Connor is now behind us, he is looking at me, jaw clenching. He must've heard our conversation. I look ahead of me again.

"That will be great, I would love to" I say.

"Then we can drive together after the site tomorrow" 

"Yes sure" 

"Miss Gibbs, I need you to do some sketches for me, its due for Monday. I will text you the details" Connor says. Laura snorts.

"No problem MR Holt, I will get it done" I say highly annoyed with him, but I will show him that I can do everything within the given deadline. 

We reach our cars, Will walks back to the mall. Connor walks to his car, he looks at me one last time before getting into his car. I get into Laura's car and she bursts out laughing. She starts the car and we drive off.

"That was some next level s**t, he doesn't know how he has it" she laughs.

"Well he shouldn't be controlling my life, I had enough of that with my parents" I say.

"You really know how to get him, and to push his buttons, that's a good thing" she says.

Can I break my boss's coldness to become better? What is so attractive about me besides my beauty that I somehow make him cold and for him to avoid the fact that he could be attracted to me as Laura says he is, but doesn't want to show it or say anything. Instead he wants to control my life, I start to see what he is trying to do. Bury me in my work so that I cannot see Will. But I will show him that I am in control of my life and I can handle both work and Will.
