The lamp by the chair turned on, and although Desmond knew who it was before she rose to her feet and turned to give him a less than charming smile, he still felt a thrill of surprise. But, that was the whole point of this little display.


Tiffany was always one for dramatics.


“I’m so glad I caught you!” Tiffany said, giving him a cheeky wink - as if to say it was perfectly normal for her to just turn up inside his apartment without so much as a word. 

He hadn’t come straight home from the meeting with his handlers, and had instead gone for a bite to eat and a stroll through the park before heading back to his apartment. He’d only skimmed the messages that he’d missed while wolfing down a hot dog, but he was pretty sure that Tiffany hadn’t sent him anything. He was also pretty sure,……
