Chapter 53 : Siyokoy II
-Vic-
We arrived at the shore safely… thank goodness, nothing worse had happened to us. Though our boat just got ruined and all. but whatever, we can make another one if ever we will need it again. There are plenty of woods everywhere, but if one of us died, we can’t create another one anymore.
That siyokoy had his advantage since we’re in his territory. He was so strong because we’re battling him in his zone, so obviously and if you’ll come to think of it, we don’t have the chance to win. But sometimes you got to be smart and use his own comfort to destroy him, and that’s what we did.
Good thing these people here with me are so strong that I’ll take care of our offense and defense while they take care of our plan and strategies. This must be the place where we will be going as it seem like Elliot is not having a violent reaction against it. He just kept looking at the map in his hand studying it, while the rest of us took our rest.
I just stared at him as he looked at the map, he seemed to be so indulged with it that he didn’t notice me looking at him. Well, I don’t want startling him either so I kept myself low key yet my eyes are fixed upon him. Hayst, this is so difficult. Whatever, I know I’m fine with it.
He must be trying to plan how we would enter the village. I bet he does, he still doesn’t notice that I am looking at him, I just feel so relaxed whenever I do this. I wonder what else can we do to save the next village. I bet those men who escaped must have reported it to them already. Now we got Lucio problems too aside from creatures ahahaha.
"Ok..." he whispered as he still kept studying the map, yet his voice was loud enough for us to hear what he was saying "Just within these woods comes the Village" he said meaningfully "We can just walk straight ahead and it should be there" he continued, gosh he looks so good when he's focusing
"Are you sure?" I asked him as I tried to look at the map that seemed so complicated to understand, yet he was still able to decipher
"Do I look like I'm not?" he shot back at me, looking really serious that sent shivers down my spine.
"That's why I don't question someone else's skill" Enzo spoke, cutting himself in with an annoying smile on his face.
"Whatever!" I rolled my eyes, then directed my gaze towards Elliot, whose face was now turning red. He suddenly burst out laughing while putting out the map from his hand.
"Why are you laughing?" I asked confusedly. I just stared at him in awe as he laughed, as if there were no other people around us. The others seemed amused as well. Gosh, the Mysteries of Elliot.
"N-nothing" he said in the middle of his breath after he subsided from laughing too hard. He looked at everyone as he calmed himself down. "I'm sorry... if you just saw his face earlier" he explained to himself. "He looked more scared than facing a monster," he added.
"So that's what you're laughing about?" I asked him sarcastically.
"Yea, why?" he composed himself and stared at me.
"Nothing, I'm just wondering why you won't laugh at my jokes, yet you laugh at my expressions" I said, shrugging it off as I started walking. He started walking as well, which everyone followed.
"And so?" he questioned once more.
"That tells something different..." I said, responding to him. He led the way towards the woods to wherever we should be going.
"Different what?" I kept asking, as if it was the most important thing. I don't know, but I find this guy really fascinating. I just didn't know how to express it properly, and I feel terrible about everything that I did to him. No wonder he hated me so much.
"Nothing... just focus on the way. We need to find our way." I said, brushing the topic off.
"Ok" he said shortly as he walked ahead of me.
"I just didn't expect that my face would cause you such happiness... I can somehow accept that my jokes aren't funny if that's the case", I uttered, still looking at him with a grin on my face. He stopped his steps and harshly turned to me as his eyebrows were already meeting each other.
"What did you say?" he asked again, but now with a heavier tone.
"I think you heard me", I said with a tone of teasing.
"Well, unfortunately not. Your overconfidence was too loud. I could barely hear anything" he said as he turned back to the direction we were going. His face was red, clearly and I saw it.
"It's not overconfidence if it's true" I said, teasing him once more. I mean, that's what you get for laughing at me.
"Sadly it's not, and you can't do anything about it" he argued still. Gosh, I really adore his stamina for arguments... he never runs out of energy.
"Ok, enough you two!" Darxi cut himself in to stop us from quarreling. It's fine with me, but I don't know about Elliot. He's maintaining the stamina, but he's losing the patience haha and for that, I won.
"Tell him, not me" Elliot said as he kept walking. See... he started it, but now he's mad about it. He's so cute!
"Ok, never mind... but going off, are we going in the right direction?" Darxi asked, reverting the topic to something else. Elliot abruptly stopped and pulled out the map from his pocket. He looked at it for a while and shot me a glare.
"This is all your fault" he said as he turned back a few steps and went the other direction.
"How is it my fault?" I caught up to him and asked. He didn't look at me as he just stared at the map to get better instructions as to where we were going.
"Because you're too handsome" he uttered without looking at me. My heart suddenly dropped with what he said. But I'm Vic. I didn't let anyone see how I was caught off guard. But man, that felt excellent. I mean, I always get that, but this one felt really different.
"Well, of course I can't argue with that" I said as I brushed my hair, living up to his remark.
"No, I'm just joking" he took back his words.
"But it wasn't funny..." I said. "It was more like stating a fact than stating satire", I added.
"That's how all your jokes sounded," he shot back, "Except they weren't factual but nonsensical," he continued. Well, ouch, that kinda hurts.
"Oh, so you agree that it's a fact, I am indeed handsome," I replied. I'm really good at twisting his words. At least I'm good at something that I really use my brain for hahaha
"Never mind, believe whatever you want to believe" he responded. "We're entitled to our own beliefs, so..." he went on.
"And it's so cool that we have something in common... like believing the same thing", I went on as well. I looked at the others who could hear our conversation. Some were giving out small and silent laughters while some seemed to be annoyed. I don't care, because I literally am having a conversation with Elliot. Not ideal, but at least.
"I think we're near" he said as he looked around, dropping off the ongoing topic, "It must be around here somewhere", he continued. We all started to look around for something that could lead us to something as well.
