“Who do we have here, Carter the Great.” Samuel, my close friend and cousin hailed me as I occupied the empty stool next to him. I needed some fresh air to clear up my head and his call came at the right time.
I rolled my eyes at his remark. “Stop acting as if you haven’t seen me for decades.” I waved my hand at the bartender. “Give me the normal,” I said to the young man.
“Right away, Sir.”
“That’s what it looks like to me because the last time I saw you was one month ago when you told me about your plans to get married again. Then boom, I heard from my father that you have tied the knot. You didn’t even bother to inform me, Carter. I’m pained.”
He placed his hand over his chest, giving me a sad look which I was undoubtedly fake.
