I swallowed hard, suddenly feeling like the walls of the party were closing in on me. The music was too loud, the lights too bright. It felt like he was watching me, but that was crazy. Pete wouldn’t be here. He had no reason to be at a place like this, surrounded by a bunch of drunk college kids.
