“Theo, get one of the maids to help you pack if you don’t want to do it yourself. You just need to pack now.” My mother told me as soon as we got back home and finished eating.
It was the quietest dinner I have ever had with her in a long time. All you could hear were utensils being used and it was so quiet you could even hear the chewing and gulping sounds. It was clear my mother wasn’t taking the news of my father possibly no longer waking up good.
But then again, who would? I myself was at a loss and somehow felt like my heart got ripped out of my chest. I didn’t know what to do or say.
“Okay.” That was all I managed to reply to my mother in which she seemed to have been surprised about.
