I shouldn’t have slapped him.
That thought trickles through my brain as I watched his face, set in hard lines as if made out of granite. He stared ahead, his arms clamped around me as he walked towards the house. At first I had tried to jump away from him, to make an escape but the way his arms had squeezed me as if in warning had stopped me, not wanting to provoke him anymore. I didn’t know what he was going to do, but I could see that he was about to snap. It was the way he held himself, he didn’t even show the effort it must be taking to carry me but all I could see was the coldness he exerted with that dark look in those blue eyes.
And, I didn’t want to admit it but I was half afraid of what he was going to do. He had looked murderous when he……
