Keila didn't speak even when she was in the car. What would she say? There was nothing to talk about anymore. He answered one word, but it already said a lot. She was disappointed, yes, because she had expected more from him.
She never looked at him, not even turning her head to the front where she could see him through her peripheral vision. She just looked outside, wore her earbuds, and didn't care whether he was being rude to the owner of the car for not entertaining him while he drove.
She shouldn't even be there in the first place, though she was really thankful that he was taking her home because there was no way she would walk home for three hours just to feed her pride. She was blaming Jerry this time, and she swore even if he was her boss, she would ignore him tomorrow.
