The darkness overcame my senses, and suddenly I fell into nothingness...

I was not sure what had happened out there under the night sky, in the forest that I called home...

I knew that forest better than anything else in the world... I grew up in that forest...

Bounding through the trees with my first leaps of freedom, changing into Leon for the first time underneath the full moon... I now felt as if they had taken that from me. They have stolen my euphoria... They took my safe place, the place I loved most, and instead, left me in complete darkness.

My last thought before I had lost consciousness, was that I wished there was a way to inform Emma... I wish there was a way to ensure her safety, and I feared that those she could not trust would take my mate from me...
