Martin’s POV
The door clicked shut behind Haylee, and I barely had a second of silence before Victoria’s heels cut through the quiet, each step sharp and deliberate as she walked further into my office.
I didn’t look up. “Something you need, Victoria?” I asked flatly with my eyes on the documents I needed to review.
A pause. “I don’t know, Martin.” Her tone was smooth, calculated. “Do I?” she countered.
I sighed through my nose, setting my pen down and leaning back against my chair. When I finally met her gaze, she was already watching me like she was piecing together a puzzle that didn’t quite fit.
Her arms folded, and her brow lifted. “You just sent Haylee money.” she said flatly hoping to get a reply.
But I didn’t respond, I said absolutely nothing while still reviewing the document……
