The petite woman stared at me with her big green eyes. Her left eye had a brown blot. It was unique I didn’t have long to stare because her eyes closed and her body went limp. I tossed the branch and caught her before she hit the ground.
“Just my luck,” I said.
She weighed as much as a pillow. I couldn’t leave her out here even though it would be easier. Thunder raged, signalling a storm. I hated this time of the year. It was too wet for me it made my runs difficult but my wolf also didn’t challenge me as much when the ground was damp and soggy.
Wolves howled and barked in the distance. Idiots probably chasing a rabbit. I carried the petite woman with long brownish-blonde hair back to the mansion.
Ryan found me a place so far from town that Raymond’s enemies wouldn’t think to ……
