Who was to say how human Hector now was, since he had spent two decades inside the Pale being modified into a humachine? To Mashtuk’s way of thinking, the youngster had been growing more and more human during the time he had spent with the pack. The silver sheen had faded from his skin, so he looked less like he was made of metal and more like he had been covered with a silver coating. Most of Hector’s internal modifications were invisible, except for the curve of platinum behind one of his ears and the bulging connector that would allow him to fix wheels onto his hind limbs.
