Yue POV
"I SAID THAT I DID NOT DO ANYTHING WRONG!" I shout at my alpha and mate.
The man that I have been mated to for three years and run this pack with looks at me with disgust. Next to him is the rogue that he found a few days ago. Since then, things have been happening around here that no one can explain. We can all see the change in him, but he himself sees me as the enemy.
Apparently, Hannah has somehow managed to get inside his head and twist his thoughts, no matter what anyone from the pack says we are tormenting poor innocent Hannah.
Pure and innocent? Don't make me laugh. From the moment she arrived here she has been nothing but trouble, yet the pack and I went out of our way to welcome her. Hell, I even allowed her to stay on our floor in the packhouse but this morning finished it for me.
While I could handle her petty remarks and her blatant disrespect towards me, I would not tolerate her belittling pack members or even climbing into my mates bed.
"And Hannah says differently, she saw you! You were betraying us and about to harm her!" Alpha Connor shouts at me.
"Because Hannah doesn't lie? All she has done ever since she arrived here the other day is lie and manipulate you! And you are too naive to see that!" I counter argue, I know at this point it is no good to fight them but if I can buy myself some time to get them to slip up I will.
I know that this is not going to end well for me, I know that Hannah is after my death for some reason but I will not make it so easy for her. I will get out of here and make a safe haven for myself and the pack, either that or my mate can renounce his claim as Alpha. After all, he is technically not the alpha of this pack anyway, as I am the heir not him.
"Watch it b***h!" Alpha Connor shouts at me, lunging forward and punching me in the face. I take a few steps back from the impact but otherwise stay standing.
Hannah looks at me and smirks, getting what she wants. Or so she thinks.
I wipe the blood from my mouth with the back of my hand, straighten my back and look Connor and Hannah in the eyes. All love has gone from my eyes and heart, only hatred remains. No matter what, I will not tolerate another laying their hands on their mate. I advocated the elders and even the King for fair treatment of mates. I will not stand here and become a victim of this man and his hussy.
"I, Yue Sudo, the true and rightful heir of the Blue Ink Pack hereby reject you Connor Pixel and renounce you as Alpha." I say, smirking at him and Hannah.
"WHAT?!" Hannah exclaims.
I tilt my head at her as I smile diplomatically. "Did he not tell you? He is Alpha in name only. He has no claim to the title. You seduced the wrong mate." I laugh.
Connor just stands there in shock, the pain from the bond breaking should have brought me to my knees, but instead I stand with my head held high. The pack members around us stand there in shock, but I can see relief in many of their eyes.
"Now accept the rejection, or don't. Either way I do not care, but you will be off pack grounds within the hour." I say, pushing past them as I walk away.
Once I am in the office I let out a sigh, the pain from the bond breaking still stings my chest, but I refuse to be with a mate who does not trust me or love me. Whether he is being manipulated by Hannah or not is not my problem. If he truly cared, then he would never have hurt the pack like he did or have let her crawl into his bed this morning.
While I regret everything that has happened the past few days, I do not regret the rejection. And not just on a personal level, I have to do what is right for the pack and the fact that Connor just let Hannah in here and get so close to us within a few hours tells me that he was not thinking of the pack, and that did not make him a good Alpha.
I am the one with Alpha blood and the true inheritor of the pack, however I stepped aside and took on the role of Luna rather than Alpha because Connor really wanted to be the Alpha. And I was in love. As silly as that sounds I really did love him, but the last few days I have seen another side of him and one that I would never want to see again.
It makes me wonder if the man I knew was real at all, or if he was just pretending to be the perfect mate and waiting for his chance to take everything when the time was right. He has to have known Hannah longer than he said, there is no way anyone can get that close with a rogue within minutes of meeting.
The only way would be if Hannah was his mate but that cannot be as I am mated to him. There is more to the story that meets the eye, and I plan on getting to the bottom of it. Even with Hannah and Connor leaving, the threat that they pose is one that cannot be ignored. After all, Connor was Alpha here so he would know how to get back in and attack us.
I need to quickly change our defenses and offenses, move around our warriors and change our tactics. This is going to be a bigger job than I need right now.
I sigh and put my head in my hands. At least the pack is safe, that is the main thing.
A Few Weeks Later
There were a few attempts from Connor and Hannah to get back into the pack, but thankfully the head warrior and I were able to act quickly and change our patterns in time so that we were able to counter their moves. It has been hard running the pack alone, but nothing I did not expect. After all, I grew up and was molded into the role of leader for this pack from a young age.
My wolf and I are missing our mate but we both know that it was the right thing to do. My wolf has since gone quiet, she is still there but mourning the loss ad betrayal of her mate. On that morning we knew that Hannah had crawled into Connors' bed as we were wracked with betrayal pains, something that no one should ever have to experience.
"Alpha! We have a problem." A warrior mind links me. After a few days I had decided to take my rightful place as the alpha of the pack, and it was a decision that the pack rejoiced in.
"What is happening?" I ask, jumping up from behind my desk and practically flying through the pack house and out of the door.
"There is a breach on the north west of the perimeter. The two patrols there raised alarm but we cannot get hold of them." The warrior replies.
"Stay in position, I am heading there now. Send some back up patrols to that location." I order, running towards to northwest of the perimeter.
All pack members who I come across quickly move out of my way, with me shouting a load of 'thank yous' as I run towards the issue.
I get there in record time, even I am surprised that I managed it within minutes when normally it takes half an hour to cover the distance.
The scene that I am greeted with is like something out of a horror film! There on the ground are the two patrols, all four of the men are dead but that is not the worst part.
Standing in the blood of the bodies is Hannah and Connor. Hannah is drenched in their blood, she looks like someone dumped a bucket of b****y water all over her.
"WHAT DID YOU DO?" I roar, anger filling my body.
"We have come for what is rightfully ours, and they refused us access. Us! Their Alpha and Luna!" Connor shouts.
"You are not their Alpha or Luna. Both of you have been rejected by the pack and from the territory."
"This pack needs an alpha." Hannah hums.
"I am the alpha of this pack." I reply, coldly staring at them.
"You?" Hannah asks, laughing.
"Me. It is my rightful title, so why wouldn't I?" I ask.
"Connor is the rightful alpha, you are just a pathetic little wolf with ideas beyond her station." Hannah hums.
"Is that what he told you? Really? You need to study your history better." I reply. I am not going to give them a lesson, unless it is where the dungeons are.
"Just give us the pack and what is ours and we will let you live." Connor growls.
"Never." I reply, not bothering with saying anything else.
I take a defensive stance, knowing that there is no talking sense to these two.
Connor runs at me, I turn slightly and just as he comes into reach I send a power kick to his stomach. He goes flying through the air a few feet and lands on top of Hannah.
I look at them and smirk.
After a few more attacks we are standing there panting, neither side willing to give up. I wonder where the hell my back up has gotten too, they should be here by now!
All it took was that second of distraction on my part for the odds to fall into their favor. I look on in shock, in an out of body experience as Connor runs at me, rubs something over his teeth before he transforms into his wolf and sink his teeth into my side.
I look at Connor in shock, his wolf looks at me with sorrow in his eyes as the pain from the bite hits me. The teeth sinks deeper into my skin, and so does the wolfsbane that the teeth are coated in. While this would be painful for Connor's wolf, it is an effective method of getting the poison into my blood stream. But it does mean the loss of the wolf's teeth.
The pain is excruciating and I land on the floor in a heap, unable to stand for much longer. It is then that Hannah's wolf and Connor's wolf start to pull and bite at me, causing wounds all over my body and pulling me in every direction. But there is nothing I can do, the wolfsbane is hitting my system and shutting down my body.
Connor turns back to his human and stands over me, smiling at me in triumph.
"How could you?" I gargle out, blood filling my mouth and airways. I look at Connor, he is not the man I knew anymore. He has changed, and not for the better. There is no redemption for him, not anymore.
"You should have just gievn me what I wanted and left." Connor replies.
"You have no claim to the pack, I am the heir not you." I gargle.
"You are dead and I killed you. I win, and I am the alpha once again." Connor says, digging his teeth into my chest, but still I refuse to scream out.
"You lose b***h. I get your life, your man and your pack." Hannah gloats before she throws some silver over me.
The silver is solid but I am in so much pain from the bites and attack that I cannot remove it. I cannot even move.
Finally, I lay there and welcome darkness. But this is not the end for me.
I refuse to go out this way!
