-Martin age 49 is a cryptographer for the military -Allison age 48 is a marine biologist -Allison has plans for the evening and invites Martin to attend -martin and allison they go out to spend time with each other at a place known as 'international cuisine' -introduction to the Walkers 'bill' and 'Sandra' Sandra is 62 and bill is 68 - Martin has an encounter with Bill after returning from the café and Bill invites them over for the first time ever
