I arrive home after spending the whole afternoon with my boss, he is very intelligent. Since he was a child, he has liked cars and has won many international awards in automotive robotics. He has managed to position his company at the top, but he also has many flaws. One of them is that he is promiscuous and lacks feelings for the women he sleeps with.
I don't know any women who have been with him more than twice, except for Ivana Mariscal, but even with her, it's just s*x. He has said it himself.
His family has money, his parents are always traveling, and he is their only child who has always lived alone. He usually isolates himself when he works, and no one can enter his heart except his beloved cars.
"It's getting late," my nani says, interrupting my thoughts.
"Yes, sorry, I forgot to let you know, I was working," I say, and she stares at me.
"With your boss?" she asks, forming a huge smile on her lips.
"Nani..." I know what she's thinking.
"It's fine, it's fine. Goodnight," she says and kisses me.
"Goodnight, Nani."
She smiles mischievously and goes to her room. My nani dreams if she thinks that anything will ever happen between my odious boss and me.
The day arrives, and I wake up, slipping into a body-hugging pale pink dress with pleats on the shoulders. I pair it with short-sleeved nude-colored pumps and a matching bag. After having breakfast with my nani, I leave the house and head to the office. Upon arrival, I check my tasks and find that Damian's schedule is fully booked. He must be having lunch with Mr. Garduño right now. We successfully closed that deal.
As the evening approaches, I realize I haven't heard anything from my boss. He hasn't shown up at the office, probably out at parties enjoying himself since it's Friday.
Just then, my phone rings. It's one of the engineers who needs written approval from my boss, who can be quite obnoxious. Frustrated, I hang up and let out a sigh. Now the question is, where am I supposed to find him?
I dial his phone, but he doesn't answer. Damn it. I print the documents and organize them, realizing I have no choice but to search high and low for my odious boss until he signs these documents for me.
I try dialing his number again, but still no reponse. Then I try again, and after 5 rings, finally I hear his voice.
"Miss Molina, why are you still at the office? Always working," he says cheerfully. There's a lot of noise and music in the background. Who knows in what lousy place he is.
"Damián, where are you?" I say loudly, hoping he can hear me.
"I'm in a very fun place."
I roll my eyes. Sometimes, he's such an i***t.
"I need you to sign something. It's very important." I almost shout because the background noise is deafening.
"You'll have to come to me, Miss Molina."
I roll my eyes again. This man will drive me crazy.
"Okay... send me the address," I say, listening carefully as he provides the details admist everyone’s screaming. It's so stressful.
20 minutes later, I arrive at a nightclub, where the loud music can be heard from outside. I pay the taxi driver and get out, walking towards the place.
There’s a long line of people trying to get in, clearly indicating it's an exclusive place. I approach one of the security guards and speak loudly, "I need to get in, he's inside..."
But the man doesn't let me finish.
"You can't enter," he firmly states and turns around. Damn it.
"Excuse me," I try again and touch him. He turns around, looking at me over his black sunglasses.
"I already told you that you can't enter," he repeats, while everyone outside crowds, crushing me.
"Hey, be careful," I threaten, but they pay no attention to me. Letting out a heavey sigh, I free myself from the crowd amd reach the man again, standing in front of him.
"I'm going to go in, whether you like it or not," I assert firmly, causing him to sarcastically laugh. Just then my phone rings, and I answer without taking my eyes off the bouncer.
"Miss Molina, you've taken too long," my odious boss says sarcastically on the other end of the line.
"Damián, I'm outside, but they won't let me in," I explain, hoping he could hear me, although I doubt it because of the loud music.
"Pass it to me," my boss says. I give the phone to the guard who looks at me arrogantly. He takes it and puts it to his ear. One second later, his arrogant air disappears.
"Yes, sir. Yes, I'm sorry, sir. I'm sorry, sir," the guard repeats, gives me the phone, and takes off his sunglasses.
"Excuse me, Miss, please come in," he says politely. After giving him a glare, I walk past him without looking back.
Entering the venue, the music is extremely loud, with everyone jumping and dancing in the dark place. Some neon lights are scattered around. I walk between the people dancing and drinking, making my way to the bar where a female bartender looks at me.
"I think you ended up in the wrong office," she mocks, eyeing my formal dress.
"I'm actually looking for someone. He's a tall man with blue eyes, brown hair, dressed in a suit, elegant, and has a mole on his neck," I explain.
"You mean you're looking for the monument that is Damián Fabre," she give me a wide smile, biting her lips sensually. I roll my eyes.
"Of course, you know him, why am I not surprised," I mutter to myself, but she hears me.
"Who wouldn't know that handsome man," she says smiling, if she only knew that what makes him handsome also makes him stressful.
"Miss Molina!" My boss suddenly shows up. I turn to look at him and notice he has an expensive drink in his hand. The lights in the place make him look spectacularly sexy but I scold myself mentally. What makes him look sexy also makes him annoying.
"Miss Molina, it's good to see you here," he says with his face close to mine. His blue eyes shine intensely and he smells like cigarettes and alcohol mixed with his perfume.
"What would you like to drink?" he asks, and I shake my head. I just want him to sign the papers and leave.
"Nothing, I just need your signature," I say while the music plays loudly.
"Miss Molina, that's not romantic at all," he says mockingly, and the woman at the bar laughs. I glare at her, and she backs away.
"Please, I have to send these documents so that production doesn't delay. The engineer called me and said you hadn't signed them," I say in a dry tone. He gets closer to me and takes a sip from his drink.
"Miss Molina, always working. What do you do for fun?" he asks, and I roll my eyes.
"I'll leave the documents with you. You sign them and send them, and if you don't do it and production is delayed, it won't be me losing millions of dollars," I say and step forward, but he grabs my hand, stopping me.
"Alright, alright, Miss Molina. You're so easily angered. Now tell me where I should sign," he says, and I let go of his grip. He smiles sexily, but I ignore him. I hand over the documents and give him a pen. I point out the pages he needs to sign, and he does it at the noisy nightclub's bar.
He finishes and hands me the papers. He smiles widely, and I just shake my head in annoyance.
"I signed. Don't be mad anymore, Miss Molina. Let's go dance," he says, but I immediately refuse as I pocket the documents.
"No thanks, I have things to do. Excuse me," I say, but he doesn't let me pass.
"You're such a party pooper. Now I have to leave too," he says, and I give him a dirty look.
"Come on," he takes my hand and pulls me out of the place. He calls for his car, and it's brought to us. He signals for me to get in. I do it reluctantly, and then he does the same. He drives while I stay silent. This man stresses me out. I send the documents from my phone so I don't have to watch him drive.
"The party was so much fun. You missed out," my boss says. I look at him angrily, and he notices.
"You always look at me like that," he says, trying to sound angry, but the mocking smile on his face won't let him.
"Because you always do things like this," I say angrily. I left this report for him last week, and he hadn't signed it yet. I hope production doesn't get delayed. Sometimes it seems like he cares about nothing but women, alcohol, and his beloved cars.
"Miss Molina, don't get mad. I was bored. It's been a week of too many meetings, and you know it," he says. I don't say anything. My phone rings. I look at the screen. It's Nani's name.
"Who is it?" he asks, trying to see my phone, and I silence it.
"Don't make noise," I say and answer the phone.
"Honey, are you going to be late today?" Nani asks while I juggle to silence my annoying boss.
"Yes, a little, but don't worry. I'm fine. I'm working," I say. My boss looks at me and smiles.
"Miss Molina," he says whispering. I look at him and put my finger to my lips as a sign for him to be quiet.
"Alright honey, please be careful. Don't stay too late at work," Nani says through the phone.
"I hadn't noticed. She has very beautiful eyes, Miss Molina," my boss says, and it makes me lose control. I look at him, his blue eyes like the sky also look at me. He lowers his gaze to my lips. I don't know why my heart starts beating faster, and my stomach ties up. This can't happen. He must be drunk. I repeat to myself in my mind, trying to control the pulse of my heart.
"Honey," Nani says and snaps me out of his spellbinding gaze. I'm so foolish, foolish.
"Yes, I won't be late. Rest. I'll be there in a bit," I say and hang up. I turn to look at him, and he keeps driving with a crooked smile. I sigh loudly. I have to stop putting myself in these situations. I can't feel anything for him. He will never feel anything for me. Besides, he's just mocking me.
He parks the car at the entrance of my building. I look into his blue eyes and his crooked smile. He's always so joyful and fun, as if nothing else mattered. Maybe it's true. He's a millionaire. I don't think he cares much about what happens around him. That's why he's my millionaire boss.
"Thank you for picking me up, Miss Molina," he says with his raspy voice, looking intensely at me.
"You're welcome," I reply dryly and try to get out, but he stops me. I turn again and find his blue eyes locked on me.
"Thank you," he says again, and I frown without understanding.
"Why?" I ask, not understanding, while I get lost in the glimmer of his beautiful eyes.
"For being... always by my side," he says and smiles at me sweetly. I feel my heart beating strongly. I hope he doesn't notice how he has thrown me off balance. I try to compose myself, but I don't know if I'm disguising it. For nothing, Damian... for nothing," I reply, and he smiles widely. I get out of his luxury car and say goodbye with my hand. He starts the engine and drives away from me. I can't think of anything else but that because between him and me, nothing else would ever happen on this planet. I could never be his lover. He will always be my odious and sexy boss.
