Saturday was the day I dreaded. It was the day I had a date with the one and only man I didn't quite like, Lucian.
I stood at the rose bush we had in the backyard of the cabin. It's funny how I never noticed it before. I was admiring the red roses. So beautiful yet had thorns on its sterns which would hurt you dearly. They reminded me of Lucian, who is so handsome yet has managed to hurt me. I picked the rose carefully enough not to get hurt. I admired roses a lot. Their namesake joined me in the garden. She came and stood beside me. Her grey eyes flickered at me. I was expecting her to say something, but she hesitated and kept quiet. I wonder what was troubling her.
When she didn't say anything, I continued to look at the rose in my hand.
