Chapter 11

How could I have been so stupid in waiting so long to tell her? If I had told two weeks ago when I got the orders, maybe we could have worked out a plan, but I was too much of a coward, and now she found out from others that were not me. She’s pissed off with me, and rightfully so. Now we have a week to work out a plan and discuss everything. Though we really don’t have anything to discuss regarding my leaving. It’s not like I asked to be shipped out again, but maybe I could have explained to her that I was only on leave until I had orders. Then again, knowing this, should I have been so adamant about being in Kenzie’s life currently? I don’t regret a second, but as I drive pondering everything, I’m starting to realize maybe I made a mistake in being in this little girl’s life only to have to leave on a whim because of orders….
