{Alpha Brandon}
I couldn't believe Georgia was that beautiful wolf I saw the bear trying to attack. I thought I had seen all of my pack members in wolf form but I guess I missed her. She covered her face and shook her head after she admitted to me it was her. I gently pulled her hands away from her face.
"Georgia, look at me please."
"I can't. I am embarrassed that a bear scared me and I ran away." She said looking at the ground.
"Hey, it's ok. You were caught off guard and you were frightened. Nothing to be embarrassed about beautiful. I am not going to make fun of you for that if that's what you are thinking. Georgia, anyone would have been frightened if they were caught off guard by a bear that big. I just thank the goddess I was there to stop the bear from killing you." She slowly raised her head until her eyes met mine.
"I am embarrassed because I didn't really know how to defend myself. I don't let my wolf out as often as I should because well, we are total opposites and she can get really wild. I try to only let her out when I really need to." she said as tears started to well up in her eyes.
"Hey, don't cry beautiful. I understand. If you would like I could help you train a little to defend yourself if you were ever to find yourself in trouble again. Maybe if you were to train with me it may help calm your wolf down a little as well." I said as I held her chin up with my thumb and index finger.
"Thank you for offering Brandon. I'll think about it and let you know." she said and gave me a small smile.
I reached for her cheek and placed my open hand on it and rubbed my thumb along her jaw. She leaned into my touch for a moment but pulled away.
"I'm sorry. I can't Brandon. I still haven't thought about us being mates and I don't want to lead you on with me still not sure what I am going to do. Please don't be angry with me." She said as she turned away from me.
"Georgia, I understand. I promise you I am not angry with you and I know you aren't trying to lead me on. I am the one who is sorry. I shouldn't have touched you like that. I know you need your space right now and I need to respect that. I am sorry for being disrespectful of your wishes. Can you forgive me?' I said hoping she would.
"Yes, I can. You didn't do anything wrong you were only reacting to the bond and I won't fault you for that. Thank you again for offering to help me." she said and kissed my cheek.
"Georgia, before you go, I heard that you and I have something in common."
"What would that be, Brandon?" She raised her brow at me.
"It seems that we are the only 2 people who like the healthy shake. I was wanting to see if you would be ok with me paying a tab for you. Since we are the only 2 people who drink it. I don't mind paying for you."
"Um. I don't know. I don't want you to have to buy stuff for me. I make enough to cover what I need or want." She said and I could tell she was a little nervous about answering me.
"It's ok. I understand if you don't want me to. I just figured since we are going to be friends I would do something nice for you that's all." She paused for a moment.
"Ok. You can pay for them for me." she said with a smile.
I walked her back to her front door and told her I hoped to see her again soon. As I was walking back to the packhouse, I was bomb rushed by 2 she-wolves who barely had clothes on. I pushed them off me and asked what they were thinking putting their hands on their Alpha without permission. They froze and bowed their heads. I told them to get out of my sight and they both took off. Josiah came walking out of the packhouse and asked why I sent the two girls he had for me away.
"I sent them away because I am sick of barely dressed she-wolves throwing themselves at me every time I leave my room and I am also sick of you sending she-wolves to my room without talking to me. I don't want any of these she-wolves. I want my mate and her only." I yelled at him.
"Mate? Did you find her? Who is she, man?"
"Who my mate is, is none of yours or anyone else's business. Until she is ready to accept me and become the luna of this pack, I will keep her identity to myself. No one is to go around trying to find out who she is do I make myself clear?" I said as I gritted my teeth at him.
"Yes Alpha." was all he said and he walked off.
I didn't miss the look he had as he said it. I knew he was still mad at me for putting him and Tilden on probation and putting their title ceremony on hold until they could prove they were worthy of gaining those titles. Beta Jonas is starting to rethink retiring because of this. I can't let him do that. He has served as Beta long enough and has done a fine job keeping my pack together. He needs to be able to go spend time with his wife. I went straight to my room and sat down on my couch. I opened my laptop and checked my emails then went and sat on the balcony. I knew Georgia probably wouldn't come by but It was a habit for me. I watched over my pack members and something caught my eye. I saw Josiah walking into the woods. I know he patrols during the day but where he was going in the woods wasn't his section. I mind-linked the guard who was in charge of that section.
"Jamie, why is Josiah in your section of the woods?"
"Sir, he asked me to switch sections today. I tried to tell him I wasn't allowed but he pulled rank on me." Jamie answered and I could hear the nervousness in his voice.
"Calm down Jamie. You aren't in trouble. Did he say why he wanted your section?"
"No, Alpha. He did not tell me why. He just said he was taking my section today and I was taking his." He replied.
"Ok. Jamie, if this happens again, please mind-link me and let me know."
"Yes, Alpha." He replied as I cut off the mind-link.
I wonder why Josiah switched sections. I know there really isn't much movement in his but he hates patrolling so why would he take on someone else's section? I sat there for a while and watched the area where Josiah went in but after 2 hours he hadn't come back out from what I could see. I figured maybe he moved further down the wood line. I was standing up to go back inside my room when I saw the same girl who I'd run into twice now walking past the packhouse and yet again she was crying. I feel bad for her that Josiah rejected her but she needs to accept the rejection and move on. I'm sure the moon goddess will bless her with a second chance and she would be much happier. I turned around and went inside. There was a knock on my door and I yelled for whoever it was to come in.
Dara opens the door and tells me she has my lunch. I still can't look her in the eye without it being awkward. Dara on the other hand keeps smirking at me and I just shake my head.
