The next day, Zoey woke up feeling a bit confused.
She glanced at the tightly closed curtains, turned over lazily, only to find that the spot beside her was already empty, and there was no warmth on the bedsheet.
She slowly sat up, grabbed the remote control from the bedside table, pressed the button, and the curtains opened.
The midday sun shone in, falling on her porcelain-white face.
She squinted her eyes and, after adjusting to the light, suddenly realized that it must be noon.
Oh no, I had already made reservations for lunch at Scent Restaurant with two parties last night. I'm definitely going to be late.
I glanced at the bedside table and didn't see my phone. Russell must have taken it.
She lifted the covers and got out of bed to wash up, when she saw the bedroom door ……
