At 2pm, the kitchen was drenched in a scourge of angered shouts.
On one side of the room, members of the Déchue Coven corralled Hyde who coddled the dead ferret in his arms, his face cramped and wrecked. Wide-eyed Mistress Sienna with arms folded, Master Charles with his hands on his hips, as they gleaned what had happened to their warlock in the woods with the vampire queen.
The other side of the kitchen at the island, Gabriella sat on a barstool, facing the Déchue Coven, hugging herself in a swathe of tears, flinching when the raging words barked in her direction. Myung was at her side in feisty defense, his dark brown eyes long since blazed red when any one of them dared cross the proverbial, unseen line in the ……
