The air was cold as ice in the meeting room.
Out of the twenty executives and secretaries present, not one was daring to raise their heads. Everyone had their eyes resolutely fixed somewhere on the large square table, or on their documents. Anywhere as long as they didn't get in the line of fire of the president.
The one that was in utter trouble was the marketing director, standing like a criminal on the scaffold, ready to be beheaded or hung. For now, it was more of a slow torture, though. The poor man was shivering, his hand holding his pen nervously shaking. The presentation behind him had stopped on an impressive display of numbers and graphics, but the poor results were making him sweat buckets at the moment.
