Chapter 44 - Hope

It had to be the hardest chapter I have ever written in this series... to convey the emotions of a daughter who has felt neglected and unseen, with the father's inability to see how deep the wounds are... and the regret and realization of them... it was harsh. Still, I think I did the situation justice. For those who are parents, we are not infallible; we are flawed and scarred ourselves. We try our best, and sometimes it is not enough. We have to acknowledge our shortcomings and ask for forgiveness. Sometimes a simple "I am Sorry" is all they need to move on and start healing. I know his job is not done there, but it's a start.
