CHAPTER ONE

I’ve had the idea of writing this novel for some time now, but something else always seemed like a better idea. Seeing as I haven’t wrote an novel in relation to music in awhile I thought I would do so tonight. The title of this novel is in tribute to The Beatles hit “Long and Winding Road”, which is a love song but my novel will describe the meaning it has for me.Embracing the twists and turnsI think when we’re growing up we’re presented this image of a very straight and linear life. The story usually goes like this: go to school, get a good job, get married, buy a house, have children, work, work, work and retire. I know in my case life hasn’t gone exactly that way. The only parts that did were getting married and buying a house, but that’s about and I’m still quite a ways from retirement. When it comes to jobs I’ve definitely had many of them and that part of my life has been full of a ton of twists and turns, especially most recently. I’ve had jobs in retail, manufacturing and much
