My name is Aspen. And I am a necromancer. I mean technically I’m a witch, from a long line of tree hugging, daisy chain making wiccans. My family aren’t allowed to practice any real magic. Even if any of them had been born with the power of our ancestors, they would be killed for using it. Magic was outlawed. The vampire masters who run the city had made it a crime punishable by death. And then there was me. It started small. I had imagery friends well into my teen years. A wild imagination was how my mother put it. But even back then I could see the worry in her eyes. The doubt. Seeing ghosts was one thing but things got steadily worse. You see I attract the dead, all of the dead and that includes vampires. Maybe even more than vampires, I’m not sure, yet. But I guess I will find out. If I live long enough to, that is.
