ABOUT ME

So this is my Author Page. Welcome... ? Hi! Nice to meet you! Clearly, or maybe not so much, Shelly Keller is a pen name. It most certainly is not my legal name. I seriously doubt I would even respond to it if someone shouted it at me. You may be asking why such a plain name? I see other writers on the platforms I read and write on with flattering, funny, names that you 100% know are not their real names. Why not one like that? Is it a tribute or something? Nah. Wait, well maybe... I don't know. I think the reason for my choice is pretty simple. Why write under a pen name pseudoname or whatever you call it anyhow? I didn't choose a pen name so that I could write anonymously. No, there is no real point in that now, is there? I chose Shelly Keller simply because that is the name everyone called me when I penciled my first story. Yes, penciled! Did you know I wrote a book when I was in the 2nd or maybe 3rd grade? I don't remember exaxtly. I did! I wrote it. Illustrated it! (Let's NOT do that again) and bound it. It was about a Leprechaun, likely spelled very wrong, and his pot of gold. And get this... the book was green! It IS my favorite color, after all. I still have the book! (Somewhere) So, I wrote my first story when I was still tiny and knew nothing of the wider world. And that is why I chose. SHELLY KELLER as my pen name.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IF I TOLD YOU VAMPIRES ARE REAL? WOULD YOU BELIEVE ME? NEVER MIND, IT DOESN’T REALLY MATTER IF YOU BELIEVE ME OR NOT. YOU WILL. VAMPIRES HAVE EXISTED SINCE THE DAWN OF TIME. THEY HAVE LIVED QUIETLY AMONG US WALKING SIDE BY SIDE WITH US INTO THE HISTORY BOOKS. THEY HAVE THE SAME CAPACITY OF HEART THAT HUMANS DO, THE SAME ABILITY TO LOVE AND TO HATE, ONLY WITH MUCH GREATER INTENSITY. WHEN THEY LOVE, THEY LOVE BEYOND HUMAN CONCEPTION, HUMANS SIMPLY CANNOT UNDERSTAND THE LOVE OF A VAMPIRE. THEY DO NOT SURVIVE THE HUNGER OR THE HATE OF ONE. THE LAWS AND THE RULES BY WHICH THEY LIVE HAVE KEPT HUMANS BLIND TO THE TRUTH OF THEIR EXISTENCE FOR EONS, YET THE VEIL BETWEEN HUMAN AND VAMPIRE GROWS EVER THINNER WITH EACH PASSING DECADE. STILL, HUMANS DON’T SEEM TO BELIEVE THAT THEY EXIST. THEY WRITE STORIES ABOUT THE ATROCITIES THEY ATTRIBUTE TO THE LUST FOR BLOOD THAT THEY FOOLISHLY BELIEVE ALL VAMPIRES POSSESS WHEN IN TRUTH, HUMANS ARE CAPABLE OF FAR GREATER ATROCITIES AND DEBAUCHERY THAN ANY VAMPIRE EVER WILL BE. THROUGHOUT TIME VERY FEW VAMPIRES HAVE EVER CROSSED THE LINE INTO NOTORIETY, OR HAVE EVER COMMITTED THE CRIMES AGAINST THEIR PRIMARY SOURCE OF SUSTENANCE THAT HAS BEEN ATTRIBUTED THEM. DO YOU THINK THAT DRACULA WAS A VAMPIRE, THAT HE COULD INDEED TURN INTO A THOUSAND BATS AND FLY AWAY FROM DANGER? THAT HE WAS IMMORTAL, EVIL AND MISPLACED? DO YOU BELIEVE IN THE TALES OF WEREWOLVES, AND OTHER SUCH CREATURES THAT MIGHT GO BUMP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT? YOU SHOULDN’T. THOSE CREATURES, THEY DO NOT EXIST. TRUST ME, THEY DO NOT. THROUGHOUT HISTORY AND TIME, PEOPLE HAVE DESTROYED THAT IN WHICH THEY DID NOT UNDERSTAND. LACK OF FAITH OR THE BELIEF IN ANYTHING DIFFERENT FROM THE CHURCH WAS NOT TOLERATED. PEOPLE THAT STOOD AGAINST THE CHURCH WERE CONVICTED OF HERESY AND STONED TO DEATH. PEOPLE WHO STOOD FOR A REVOLUTION AND CHANGE IN THE WAY THINGS WERE DONE, THEY WERE BEHEADED. WOMEN AND MEN, MOSTLY WOMEN, THAT POSSESSED EXTRAORDINARY ABILITIES BEYOND THE COMPREHENSION OF MAN, WERE PERSECUTED AND DROWNED OR BURNED AT THE STAKE. DO YOU BELIEVE IN LOVE? OF COURSE, YOU DO. WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IF I TOLD YOU LOVE WAS REAL? SOME WOULD SAY THAT IT IS AS ELUSIVE AS THE SHADOWY VAMPIRE, A FIGMENT OF THE IMAGINATION, INSUBSTANTIAL, AND UNREAL. WHAT IF I TOLD YOU VAMPIRES LOVE AND LOVE COMPLETELY? WOULD IT CHANGE YOUR OPINION OF THEM, OF LOVE? YOU HAVE AN OPINION. DON’T BOTHER WITH TRYING TO DENY IT. EVERYBODY HAS ONE. WHAT IF I TOLD YOU LOVE WAS NOT REAL WOULD YOU BELIEVE ME? SHOULD YOU? CHANCES ARE YOU HAVE FELT, LOVE. MAYBE YOUR PARENTS AND SIBLINGS LOVE YOU, MAYBE YOUR BEST FRIEND LOVES YOU. MAYBE YOU ARE IN LOVE OR BELIEVE YOURSELF TO BE. THESE PEOPLE THAT YOU LOVE, THEY LOVE YOU. THEY DO. LOVE IS VERY REAL. VAMPIRES ARE REAL AND JUST LIKE HUMANS, THEY LOVE. BUT THE LOVE OF A HUMAN, IT IS A PALE COMPARISON TO THE LOVE OF A VAMPIRE. NOT A BEING IN ALL THE CURSED WORLD CAN LOVE AS DEEPLY AND COMPLETELY AS A VAMPIRE CAN. A MILLION STARS COULD NOT OUTSHINE IT. WOE TO THE ONE THAT COMES BETWEEN A VAMPIRE AND THEIR LOVE, FOR IT WILL MOST ASSUREDLY BE A VAMPIRE.

Ariel Decklan is an enigmatic and beautiful bartender at the well-known premier nightclub, Bey Luna Beatz LA. She has an uncanny ability to serve a patron exactly what they want before they can ask for it and a hidden ability she wishes she didn’t have. She can mix drinks that dazzle and stun as they change colors in the glass and spin bottles like it is nobody’s business while she’s at it. She moves with an elegant, smooth, and easy grace. Her quick wit and generous smile catch the eye of many a patron as she mixes drinks, spins bottles, and expertly servers her patrons at her bar, but none more than the Prince of Vampires. Her grace sets her apart from others. Her kindness makes her shine, her simple beauty captivates him. He is struggling to resist her and he doesn’t know why. Alex Wright is a strikingly handsome patron whose arrogance leaves much to be desired. He has it in his head that she should give him a chance. She refuses to break her rule for him. She has told him ‘no’ as nicely as she can more times than she should be required to, but he just keeps pushing until he pushes her too far. A beautifully mysterious patron sits broodingly sipping his drink at the end of her bar night after night. She isn’t supposed to notice her patrons. She isn’t supposed to find him attractive. She isn’t supposed to dream about them. Especially him considering that every night he leaves with a different woman on his arm. She isn’t supposed to want to go home with him. But she finds herself drawn to his presence like a moth to a flame. Can she resist him? Alex Wright is a rouge seduction vampire who fancies himself god’s gift to all humans. No one has been able to resist his charm. No one has ever told him no. He is obsessed with all things Ariel Decklan, but ‘no’ is the only word that she has for him. She is the most beautiful woman his eyes have ever held. He wants her. He intends to claim her whether she wants him to or not. What will a jaded Alex do when his advances fail to get the girl? Will the jaded vampire take the hint and back down in the face of another’s claim or will he challenge the Prince of Vampires for her? Grayson Darke is the Prince of Vampires. Every night he sits at the end of the bar pretending not to watch the beautiful girl as she works her bar with elegance grace, talent, and skill. She holds a power over him that scares him more than anything has ever scared him before, yet he cannot move himself to not come to her bar, night after night. He takes pleasure in the way she dismisses her suitors and exception to the one that won’t take the hint. He can’t deny his attraction to her. He can’t explain it either. When danger comes calling he must decide if he will protect her or let the events unfold as intended. Will the Prince protect her and can he win her heart if he decides that is what he wants to do?
