Ember had met her mate, moved to be with him. Everything was going great for the first month, then he became cold and distant. He hated being near her and even started having affairs. She had to put up a front for everyone though, and that was hardest when he hit her for the first time Sequel to His Greatest Mistake, but My Greatest Treasure. You can read this on its own, but it would be helpful to read the first book to get the context. I have been told that this story can be confusing, so this is a warning that it is more intricate and requires more thinking than my others. Rated Mature for descriptions of self-harm/suicide. I do not support it, especially as someone who has been through this before.
