Alfredo "Fredo" Trentinara leaves his US home to live in the Philippines as a television producer. There he meets a number of interesting characters, including a girl whom he falls in love with, a drunken anchorman, and a resentful executive assistant. As odd events keep cropping up in his life, questions spin in a typhoon. Why did the girl, who was so warm in the beginning, grow distant and then disappear? Why did she return after letting a full year pass, with completely different traits and manners? Is she really the girl she claims to be? Fredo doesn't quite think so.
