Cara, who was orphaned at fourteen years old, dreams of only one thing: moving as far away from New Orleans, Louisiana as humanly possible. At twenty years old she works three jobs, seven days a week to do just that. She needs a new life, she needs to get away from her high-school sweetheart who has some crazy hold over her, she needs to start fresh and put the trauma this city caused her in her past.
What she doesn't need is Alec. Alec is gorgeous. He's tall, dark, and handsome by classic gentleman standards and he keep showing up in her life at the worst and best times. He's possessive, controlling, intimidating, rude, and enchanting all at the same time. Even when Cara does everything she can to keep her distance, there's a pull stronger than anything she's ever felt that always leads her to Alec. She's the moth, and Alec is the flame.
