Souna waited in silence, feeling her heart race, as heavy steps approached her, increasing in force and speed. By their pacing she realized in horror they should belong to a large beast.
With only a brief moment to debate between taking her chances and running for her life or staying hidden in her spot, wondering if the animal those steps belonged to would be able to catch her scent or not, she found herself frozen in place as a large majestic black feline came into view.
Her hands trembling and her mouth dropping open in abject fear, when she spotted the enormous golden-haired man that was riding it, her hand clenching into a fist.
He looked exactly like the monsters that had killed Kabil, except for the metallic black mask strapped to the back of his head and covering his lower face.
His blue eyes sparkling in the crepuscular light as he walked past the bush she hid behind. His long braid hanging over his shoulder, a large box lying over the beast´s back, something she could not clearly see moving inside.
“Could they have all reached Midland so soon?” She thought to herself. If they had, then she was already too late. But if he was just a lone scouter she might still stand a chance.
Souna´s breath caught in her throat when the animal stopped right ahead of where she remained, crouched in fear, her nails digging into her palm. The man´s head perking up for a maddening long second, before urging his critter to keep walking ahead.
Once her lungs stopped threatening to shut down and her heart rate finally subsided enough, she took a deep breath and got out of her hideout to continue her quest.
She´d barely brushed the leaves off her clothing and taken a couple steps, when the sharpen tip of a spear poked her back and made her guts drop to the ground.
-Do you happen to have a death wish? - A deep voice asked behind her- How stupid are you to think you can sneak up on a Yahurian?
